Jujube

Ziziphus jujuba

Description

Tree very resistant to drought and heat. Sweet and nutritious fruit.

Growing tips

The jujube tree needs full sun exposure, with at least 7 hours of direct sunlight per day, and is best planted in spring in a spacious outdoor location, as it can reach up to 8 metres in height. Watering should be scarce, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings, since it is highly drought-resistant. It withstands temperatures down to -15 °C, making it a hardy tree suitable for Mediterranean and continental climates. It prefers well-drained soil and requires little fertilisation to develop properly.
