Canary creeper

Tropaeolum canariense

Description

Climbing plant with fresh green leaves and large bright orange flowers. Ideal for temperate Mediterranean climates where it does not freeze.

Growing tips

The Canary Creeper needs an outdoor spot with direct sunlight for at least 5-6 hours a day and moderate watering, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings. Since it does not tolerate frost and its minimum temperature is 5 °C, it should be protected or sheltered during cold months. Provide it with a support or trellis to encourage its climbing growth, as it can reach up to 3.5 metres in height. Bear in mind that it has mild toxicity, so handle it with care if children or pets are nearby.
