Trachelospermum asiaticum

Evergreen climbing plant with small white flowers and a very pleasant fragrance. Smooth and shiny leaves that take on reddish tones at low temperatures.

Growing tips

Trachelospermum asiaticum is an outdoor climber that needs between 4 and 10 hours of direct sunlight per day; place it against a wall, trellis or pergola where it can climb and spread up to 5 metres in height. Water with moderate frequency, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings, and use well-draining soil to prevent waterlogging. It is hardy and tolerates frost down to -8 °C, making it ideal for Mediterranean gardens without any special winter protection. Bear in mind that it is mildly toxic, so avoid contact with the sap if you have children or pets.
