Tagetes erecta
Annual plant with very showy orange-yellow flowers. Natural pest repellent.
Cempasúchil needs full sun exposure, with a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight per day, and should be planted in spring or summer in a well-draining substrate. Water moderately, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot. It does not tolerate frost, so protect it when temperatures drop below 5 °C or plant it after the cold season has passed. It is a mildly toxic aromatic plant; handle it with care if you have children or pets.
