Solanum melongena
A typically Mediterranean vegetable. It needs high temperatures and plenty of sunlight.
Eggplant needs an outdoor location with direct sunlight for at least 7-8 hours a day and temperatures above 10 °C, as it does not tolerate frost. Water frequently, keeping the substrate consistently moist but well-drained, especially during the warm summer months when it flowers and fruits. Plant it in spring in a soil rich in organic matter and fertilize regularly to support healthy growth up to 60-120 cm in height.
