Sempervivum montanum

Description

Small rosettes with green leaves that turn reddish in cold. Reddish flowers grouped in dense inflorescences.

Growing tips

Sempervivum montanum needs between 6 and 12 hours of direct sunlight per day to keep its rosettes compact and its foliage colour vibrant. Water very sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, as it is a highly drought-tolerant succulent. Use a well-draining substrate, ideally mixed with sand or grit, to prevent root rot. It is extremely hardy (down to -25 °C) and requires no winter protection, whether grown outdoors or indoors in a well-lit spot.
