Reflexed stonecrop

Sedum rupestre

Description

Tapestry sedum with linear green leaves that turn orange in summer. Very decorative star-shaped yellow flowers.

Growing tips

Sedum rupestre needs full sun exposure (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day) and a very well-drained substrate, preferably sandy or with gravel, as it is a succulent that does not tolerate excess moisture at the roots. Water it very sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter. It is extremely hardy and withstands frost down to -20 °C, making it ideal for both Mediterranean outdoor gardens and ground cover plantings. Plant it in spring or autumn to encourage good root establishment.
