Grey Santolina

Santolina rosmarinifolia

Description

Compact shrub with fine grayish aromatic leaves and spherical yellow flowers. Perfect for dry and rocky gardens.

Growing tips

Grey santolina needs full sun exposure (at least 6 hours a day) and a well-drained substrate, preferably sandy or stony, as it is very sensitive to excess moisture. Water sparingly and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter. It is a hardy shrub that tolerates frost down to -10 °C and requires no winter protection in Mediterranean climates. In spring, prune it lightly after flowering to maintain its compact shape and encourage new growth.
