Blue sage needs full sun exposure (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day) and a well-drained substrate, as it is very sensitive to excess moisture. Water sparingly and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter. It is frost-hardy down to -8 °C, so it can overwinter outdoors in Mediterranean climates without any issues. In spring, lightly prune the flowered stems to keep the plant compact and encourage an abundant, long-lasting bloom.
