Rue is a hardy and easy-to-grow plant that needs full sun exposure (at least 6 hours a day) and well-drained soil, as it is very sensitive to excess moisture; water it sparingly and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. It tolerates frosts down to -10 °C, making it ideal for Mediterranean outdoor gardens year-round. Keep in mind that it is a toxic plant: always wear gloves when handling it, as its sap can cause skin irritation.
