Rosmarinus officinalis subsp. eriocalyx
Wild variant of rosemary with finer leaves and pink flowers. Aromatic and very rustic.
This wild rosemary needs full sun exposure, with a minimum of 6-7 hours of direct sunlight per day, and is best planted outdoors in autumn or spring. Water very sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, as it is highly drought-tolerant and prone to root rot if overwatered. Use a well-drained, preferably sandy or calcareous soil, and no special fertilising is needed. It is very hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -10 °C, so no winter protection is required in Mediterranean climates.
