Ribes rubrum
Fruit-bearing shrub that produces clusters of bright red currants, sweet and tart. A hardy and productive plant, much appreciated for making jams and desserts.
Plant in well-draining, fertile soil. Prune in late winter to maintain shape. Water regularly during summer. Requires winter chill for good fruiting.
