Flowering Cactus

Rebutia minuscula

Description

Small cactus with bright orange flowers that bloom abundantly. Ideal for rock gardens and dry containers.

Growing tips

The crown cactus (Rebutia minuscula) needs between 6 and 10 hours of direct sunlight per day to bloom abundantly in spring with its characteristic orange flowers. Water sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, as it is very sensitive to excess moisture; use a well-draining substrate, ideally a cactus mix or blended with coarse sand. Although frost-hardy down to -8 °C, it is advisable to protect it from winter rain when grown outdoors to prevent root rot. It thrives both on terraces and in rocky gardens, as well as indoors in a bright spot, planted in small, shallow pots.
