Pittosporum

Pittosporum tobira

Description

Very versatile evergreen shrub, resistant to salinity and drought.

Growing tips

Pittosporum is a robust, low-maintenance shrub: plant it outdoors in direct sunlight for at least 3 hours a day, in well-drained soil. Water infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings, as it tolerates drought well. It withstands temperatures down to -8 °C, making it ideal for Mediterranean climates and coastal areas with salty air. Bear in mind it has mild toxicity, so handle it with care if children or pets are present.
