Paeonia suffruticosa
Shrub with enormous double flowers in shades of pink and white, extremely fragrant. Long-lived and majestic.
The Tree Peony needs between 5 and 8 hours of direct sunlight per day in a permanent outdoor location, as it is not suitable for indoor growing. Water with moderate frequency, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings, especially in winter when the plant enters dormancy. It is frost-hardy down to -10 °C, but plant it in autumn in a well-drained substrate rich in organic matter to encourage rooting before the cold sets in. It has mild toxicity, so avoid contact of leaves or roots with young children or pets.
