Origanum sardoum
Sardinian endemic marjoram with aromatic grey-green leaves. Delicate pink flowers excellent for cooking.
Sardinian marjoram requires full sun exposure, with a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight per day, and is strictly an outdoor plant. Water it infrequently, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, as it tolerates drought very well and suffers from excess moisture. Plant it in well-drained soil, preferably light or sandy, typical of the Mediterranean climates to which it is adapted. It is frost-resistant down to -5 °C, so it can overwinter outdoors without problems in temperate climate zones.
