Olea europaea
Emblematic Mediterranean tree, very long-lived and drought-resistant.
The olive tree needs full sun exposure, with a minimum of 7 hours of direct sunlight per day, and is best planted in spring or autumn in well-drained, low-fertility soil. Watering should be sparse, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings, as it is highly drought-resistant. It tolerates temperatures down to -10 °C, making it a hardy tree perfectly suited for outdoor Mediterranean gardens. It is an easy-to-grow, long-lived plant, ideal for large spaces where it can reach between 3 and 9 metres in height.
