Spearmint (Mentha spicata) needs abundant and regular watering, keeping the substrate consistently moist but never waterlogged. Place it outdoors in a spot with direct sunlight for 3 to 7 hours a day, in a fresh, well-drained substrate. It is very hardy and tolerates frost down to -15 °C, making it ideal for Mediterranean gardens year-round. Plant it in spring or autumn and keep its growth in check, as it spreads quickly.
