Mentha pulegium subsp. microphylla
Small mint with tiny leaves and purple flowers. Intense aroma similar to mint, excellent for infusions.
The witch's thyme requires between 5 and 8 hours of direct sunlight per day and moderate watering, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent waterlogging. It is resistant to light frosts (down to -3 °C), so it can live outdoors year-round in Mediterranean climates, though it also adapts well to indoor pots as long as it receives enough light. Plant it in spring or autumn in a well-draining substrate, and keep in mind that it is toxic if ingested in large quantities, particularly for pets and pregnant women.
