Melocactus ernestii
Small globular cactus native to Brazil with a dense body covered in strong spines. It develops a characteristic floral crown at maturity from which small pink flowers will emerge.
Requires abundant direct sunlight and very well-draining soil with minimal organic matter. Water sparingly only during growing season; keep dry in winter. Avoid high humidity and temperatures below 12°C.
