Mahonia japonica
Japanese deciduous shrub with green compound leaves and highly fragrant yellow flowers in upright racemes. Produces decorative dark blue berries in spring.
Prefers semi-shaded locations and moist but well-drained soil. Fertilize in spring. Prune after flowering. Very cold hardy and requires minimal pest treatments.
