Linum usitatissimum
Herbaceous plant cultivated since ancient times for its oilseeds and stem fibers. Its small blue flowers are delicate and the plant is quite hardy.
Sow directly in well-drained soil with plenty of sun. Requires little watering, only during prolonged drought. Does not need frequent fertilizing. Harvest seeds when capsules turn brown.
