Wood Lily

Lilium bulbiferum

Description

Forest Lily with large orange-reddish flowers. Strong fragrance and natural elegance.

Growing tips

Lilium bulbiferum needs between 5 and 8 hours of direct sunlight per day to flower well in spring and early summer; plant the bulbs in autumn or early spring in well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water moderately, keeping the soil slightly moist during active growth while avoiding waterlogging, which can cause bulb rot. It is frost-hardy down to -10 °C, so it can overwinter outdoors without issue in most Mediterranean climates. Important: this plant is toxic if ingested, so take extra care if children or pets are present nearby.
