Lavender

Lavandula angustifolia

Description

Aromatic shrub par excellence. Highly appreciated violet flowers and unmistakable aroma.

Growing tips

Lavender needs at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day and a well-drained substrate, preferably sandy or calcareous, as it does not tolerate excess moisture at the roots. Water sparingly and allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter. It is very hardy and withstands frosts down to -15 °C, making it ideal for both Mediterranean gardens and cold climates. In late spring, lightly prune the flowered stems to maintain a compact shape and encourage a new flush of blooms.
