Lagurus ovatus
Small grass with soft and hairy spikes that resemble a hare's tail. Excellent for borders and dried floral arrangements.
Lagurus ovatus is a very hardy Mediterranean grass that requires full sun exposure (at least 6 hours a day) and infrequent watering, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Plant it in well-drained soil, even poor or sandy, as it does not tolerate excess moisture around the roots. It withstands frost down to -8 °C without any issues, so no winter protection is needed in most climates. To enjoy its decorative seed heads in dried arrangements, cut them when fully formed and hang them upside down in a well-ventilated spot to dry.
