Dusty Miller

Jacobaea maritima

Description

Ornamental plant with silvery and woolly foliage that adds texture to the garden. Additional yellow flowers in summer.

Growing tips

The Dusty Miller needs between 6 and 8 hours of direct sunlight per day to maintain its characteristic silvery foliage; plant it in a sunny outdoor spot. It has low water needs, so water it sparingly and allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, preferring well-drained, sandy soils. It is frost-hardy down to -5 °C, making it suitable for Mediterranean climates and rustic gardens. Caution: it is a toxic plant, so contact with children and pets should be avoided.
