Hoya carnosa var. rubra
Climbing plant with fleshy leaves and star-shaped pink flowers intensely fragrant. Ideal for warm areas and indoors.
The pink wax flower needs between 4 and 8 hours of direct sunlight per day, whether in a bright indoor spot near a south-facing window or outdoors in a warm climate, always protected from frost since it cannot tolerate temperatures below 5 °C. Watering should be sparse: allow the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter, as its fleshy leaves store water and excess moisture can rot the roots. Use a well-draining substrate by mixing cactus soil or adding perlite, and let this climbing plant grow up a stake or trellis to encourage its fragrant blooms throughout summer and autumn.
