Hellebore is an outdoor plant highly resistant to frost (down to -20 °C), ideal for shaded or semi-shaded spots receiving 1 to 4 hours of sunlight per day. Water regularly but moderately, keeping the soil moist and well-drained without waterlogging it. Plant it in autumn in a rich, organic soil and allow it to establish itself undisturbed to enjoy its white flowers throughout winter and spring. Bear in mind that it is a toxic plant: handle it with gloves and keep it out of reach of children and animals.
