Helichrysum italicum subsp. italicum
Aromatic shrub with silvery and narrow leaves, famous for its curry fragrance. Yellow flowers that keep well.
Italian curry plant needs full sun exposure (at least 7 hours a day) in a well-ventilated outdoor spot, as it is not suitable for indoor growing. Water very sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, since it is highly drought-tolerant. Use a well-drained substrate, ideally sandy or mixed with gravel, to prevent excess moisture around the roots. It withstands temperatures down to -5 °C, making it hardy enough for Mediterranean climates, and can be planted in either autumn or spring.
