Hardy Geranium

Geranium sanguineum

Description

Hardy Geranium: Vigorous geranium with intense magenta flowers and decorative foliage that turns red in winter. Very hardy and easy.

Growing tips

Hardy Geranium (Geranium sanguineum) needs between 4 and 8 hours of direct sunlight per day to bloom abundantly from spring to summer; plant it outdoors in a sunny spot, as it is not suitable for indoor growing. Water sparingly and allow the substrate to dry out well between waterings, since it tolerates drought well and excessive moisture can rot the roots. It withstands temperatures down to -15 °C, making it a fully hardy plant that needs no protection from frost. Plant it in spring or autumn in a well-drained substrate, and enjoy the dark green foliage that turns a spectacular red in winter.
