Fuchsia magellanica
Shrub with bicolored flowers in pink and violet. Ideal for shaded areas.
Fuchsia (Fuchsia magellanica) prefers indirect light or partial shade, with 2 to 6 hours of gentle sun per day, avoiding direct midday sun which can scorch the leaves. It requires frequent and abundant watering, keeping the substrate constantly moist but with good drainage to prevent waterlogging. It is a hardy shrub that tolerates temperatures down to -5 °C, so it can remain outdoors in Mediterranean climates, although in very cold winters it is advisable to protect the roots with a layer of mulch. It blooms in summer and autumn, and monthly feeding with a flowering plant fertiliser during this period will encourage a lush and colourful display.
