Fritillaria meleagris
Spring bulb with bell-shaped flowers in purple color and checkered patterns. Deciduous plant ideal for natural gardens and humid areas.
Plant the bulbs in autumn in a spot with direct sun (4-8 hours per day) and in a well-drained substrate that retains some moisture, as this species thrives in slightly damp conditions. Water moderately during its spring growing period and reduce watering once the foliage dies back and the plant enters summer dormancy. It is very hardy and tolerates temperatures down to -15 °C, so no winter protection is needed outdoors. Keep in mind that it is a toxic plant: avoid contact with the mouth and wash your hands after handling the bulbs.
