Freesia refracta
Fragrant tubular flowers in yellow tones with intense and pleasant aromas. Delicate plant that needs protection during the coldest months but blooms abundantly in mild climates.
Plant freesia bulbs in autumn or spring in a well-drained substrate and in a spot with direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day. Water moderately, keeping the substrate slightly moist but avoiding excess water that could rot the bulbs. Since it is not frost-resistant, protect it when temperatures approach 0 °C, either by covering it outdoors or bringing it inside. Once it has flowered, allow the foliage to dry out naturally before removing the bulbs to store them until the next season.
