Water Geranium

Erodium cicutarium

Description

Annual plant with small pink-purple flowers. Traditionally used for hemostasis and hemorrhoid problems.

Growing tips

Water geranium (Erodium cicutarium) needs direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours a day and should be grown exclusively outdoors. Water sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out well between waterings, as it tolerates drought and is sensitive to excess moisture. It is very hardy and withstands frost down to -5 °C, so no winter protection is needed in Mediterranean climates. Plant it in spring or autumn in a well-drained, slightly poor soil, where it will thrive with minimal care.
