Chalk Dudleya

Dudleya pulverulenta

Description

Succulent with rosettes of powdery leaves in pearlescent gray color. Blooms with inflorescences of yellow flowers during spring.

Growing tips

Dudleya pulverulenta requires direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day and very infrequent watering, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Use a well-draining substrate, ideally a cactus or succulent mix, whether planted in a pot or in an outdoor garden. It is frost-hardy down to -5 °C, making it suitable for Mediterranean climates without the need for winter protection in temperate zones. Avoid wetting the powdery leaves when watering, as this can damage the waxy coating that protects them.
