Dorycnium pentaphyllum
Mediterranean leguminous shrub with small white-pink flowers in heads, very resistant to extreme conditions.
Maritime clover (Dorycnium pentaphyllum) requires full sun exposure, with a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight per day; plant it outdoors in spring or autumn in well-drained, preferably poor or calcareous soil, as it thrives in typical Mediterranean conditions. Watering should be very infrequent, as it tolerates summer drought well and excess moisture can rot the roots. It is a very hardy shrub, resistant down to -12 °C, so no winter protection is needed in most climates. Note that it has mild toxicity, so ingestion of any part of the plant should be avoided.
