Dictamnus albus
Perennial plant with aromatic leaves and white or pink flowers. Traditionally used for skin problems and inflammations.
White dittany needs an outdoor location with direct sunlight for at least 5-8 hours a day and well-drained soil, preferably calcareous or slightly dry, as it does not tolerate excess moisture. Watering should be minimal: water only when the soil is completely dry, especially in summer. It is a very hardy plant that withstands frost down to -15 °C, so no winter protection is needed in Mediterranean or continental climates. Caution: all parts of the plant are toxic and can irritate the skin, especially during flowering; always handle it with gloves.
