Cordyline australis
Ornamental tree native to New Zealand with long, narrow leaves and a slender trunk topped with a crown of foliage resembling a palm tree. It produces small whitish flowers in panicles during summer.
Prefers bright, sunny locations. Water moderately, allowing soil to dry slightly between waterings. Tolerates drought and cold well once established. Regularly prune dead leaves to maintain appearance.
