Cistus populifolius
Mediterranean shrub with white flowers and yellow center, very resistant to drought and direct sunlight.
Cistus populifolius is a very easy-to-grow Mediterranean shrub: plant it in a spot with direct sunlight for at least 6-7 hours a day and in well-drained, preferably poor or sandy soil, as it does not tolerate excess moisture at the roots. Watering should be infrequent, especially once established, since it is highly drought-tolerant; occasional watering in summer is sufficient and it barely needs any in winter. It withstands temperatures down to -8 °C, making it perfectly suited for outdoor gardens in Mediterranean or mild continental climates. Avoid transplanting it too often, as it dislikes having its roots disturbed.
