Cistus ladanifer
Shrub with white flowers with central purple spots and sticky aromatic leaves. Very drought resistant and suitable for poor soils.
Cistus ladanifer needs a full-sun location with at least 6-7 hours of direct light per day, as it is a fully Mediterranean outdoor plant. Water very sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, since it tolerates drought very well and is sensitive to excess moisture. Plant it in well-drained soil, even poor or stony ground, avoiding clay or compacted soils that retain water. It is frost-hardy down to -5 °C, so it can overwinter outdoors without protection in Mediterranean and temperate climates.
