Cistus creticus
Mediterranean shrub with fleeting white flowers and aromatic leaves. Very resistant to drought.
White rockrose needs an outdoor location with direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day and a well-drained, preferably poor and stony soil, typical of Mediterranean gardens. Water very sparingly, as it is highly drought-tolerant and will suffer if the soil stays moist. It withstands temperatures down to -8 °C, but avoid waterlogged soil in winter, which can cause real harm. Plant it in autumn or spring and enjoy its white, aromatic blooms in late spring and early summer.
