The rock rose is a very hardy Mediterranean shrub that needs full sun exposure with a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight per day and very infrequent watering, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Plant it in well-drained, poor soil, as fertile or moist soils can be harmful; it tolerates frost down to -5 °C without issues. It is ideal for outdoor Mediterranean-climate gardens and requires virtually no maintenance once established.
