Chamaerops humilis
The only native palm tree in Europe. Very resistant and slow-growing.
The dwarf fan palm needs full sun exposure (at least 5 hours per day) and well-drained soil, as it is very sensitive to excess moisture. Water sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter. It is a hardy plant that tolerates frost down to -10 °C and adapts perfectly to Mediterranean climates with very little maintenance. Plant it outdoors in spring and avoid indoor spaces, as it requires direct sunlight to thrive.
