The carob tree is a very hardy Mediterranean tree that needs full sun exposure (at least 7 hours a day) and tolerates temperatures down to -7°C. Watering should be minimal, as it withstands summer drought perfectly; water only when the soil is completely dry. Plant it in well-drained soil, preferably calcareous or light, and avoid waterlogged or compacted ground. It is ideal for outdoor Mediterranean gardens and requires little maintenance once established.
