Catalpa bignonioides
Deciduous North American tree with large heart-shaped leaves and showy white flowers with yellow and purple spots. Produces long seed pods that resemble cigars, hence its common nickname.
Needs full sun exposure and well-drained soil. Water regularly during the growing season. Drought-tolerant once established. Prune in late winter to maintain shape.
