Camassia quamash
Impressive bulb with dense spike of star-shaped flowers in blue or violet color. Spectacular in large groups in the garden.
Plant the bulbs in autumn in a sunny spot (at least 5 hours of direct light per day), in well-drained soil that still retains some moisture, as it needs moderate watering especially during spring sprouting and flowering. It is very hardy and tolerates frost down to -20 °C, so no winter protection is needed. Plant it in large groups to achieve a spectacular visual effect with its spikes of blue or violet flowers. Once it has flowered and the foliage has dried out, reduce watering and allow the bulb to rest until the following season.
