Callistemon viminalis
Australian shrub with spectacular red cylindrical inflorescences. Attractive to passerines and perfect for well-draining soils.
Plant the weeping bottlebrush in an outdoor spot with direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day, as it is not suitable for indoor growing. Water with moderate frequency, allowing the substrate to dry out slightly between waterings, and ensure the soil has good drainage to prevent waterlogging at the roots. It tolerates temperatures down to -5 °C, making it quite hardy in cool climates, but protect it from prolonged severe frosts. In spring and summer it produces spectacular red cylindrical flower spikes that attract birds and pollinators.
