Briza media needs an outdoor location with direct sun, at least 5 hours per day, in well-drained soil that is preferably poor to average in nutrients. Water with moderate frequency, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings, especially in summer. It is very hardy and tolerates heavy frosts down to -15 °C, so no winter protection is needed. Plant it in spring or autumn for best results, and enjoy its delicate quivering flower heads throughout spring and summer.
