Brassica juncea
Leafy green vegetable with a peppery taste, grows quickly. Excellent for fresh salads and Asian cuisine.
Mustard (Brassica juncea) needs between 4 and 8 hours of direct sunlight per day and is ideally planted in autumn or spring in fertile, well-drained soil. Water moderately, keeping the soil slightly moist but never waterlogged, as it is a fast-growing vegetable. It is quite hardy and tolerates frost down to -8 °C, making it well suited to Mediterranean climates in outdoor growing. Harvest young leaves regularly to encourage continuous regrowth and enjoy their characteristic spicy flavour.
