Bougainvillea × peruviana
Plant name: Purple Bougainvillea Vigorous climbing plant with intense purple bracts. Drought-resistant and with abundant flowering in Mediterranean climate.
The purple bougainvillea needs an outdoor location with direct sunlight for at least 6 hours a day to ensure abundant flowering from spring to autumn. Water it sparingly and allow the substrate to dry out well between waterings, as it is drought-resistant and excess water can damage the roots. Plant it in a spot sheltered from frost, as it does not tolerate prolonged temperatures below 0 °C, and provide a support or trellis to guide its vigorous growth up to 5 metres tall.
